"It was absolutely freezing- my mum, acting as photographer's assistant for the day, wrapped in wooly scarfs chirped up regularly to remind us of this fact"
Here finally is one half of my little adventure on brighton beach with my brilliant Uncle and Photographer Xavier! I've worked with Xav previously on a pulls no punches studio shoot involving lots of experimental lighting and expressions and a simple concept- you can check it out HERE.
Although it was absolutely freezing (my mum, acting as photographer's assistant for the day, wrapped in wooly scarfs chirped up regularly to remind us of this fact :)) the sunlight was piercing and the water looked like a puddle of glitter, so aside from my paws being tucked away you would never even know!
I really enjoyed doing this one as it's not often you're working with TWO members of your family on a photo-shoot and resulted in brilliantly unexpected perks like lots of laughs and a great meal in a dinky little italian afterwards.
I wanted to dress for the weather which was pretty much freezing spring-time, so I left the coat and scarf at home but stuck with my badboy Topshop leather trousers to save me from frost bite- I paired them with my favorite boots of the moment, rubber soled canvas heels (think of them like a the fashion 4X4- ok for city life but great in rough terrain too). Up top I was on 'mission cosy' with my new sweatshirt from TKmaxx complete with fur belly and transparent leopard print and a personal jewel in my wardrobe- my gold woven zip-up wait for it.. €3 in pennies, last one left and in my size! keeping you warm in literally any weather.
I finished it all off with another from my Bindi collection, some gold jewelry and my new canvas backpack happily adopted cousin of my boots.
I hope you like them, I absolutely love the eerie vibe Xav creates in his images while still keeping it bright and natural.
