Hey guys, Since it's the winter season- already how the heck did that happen?!- and the chill is taking hold, it's time to start thinking about wrapping up and although here in Ireland that's a recurring thought all year round, fashion week believes in seasons.

Sifting through sites such as, and, I've chosen my very favorites in everything from beauty, street-style and of course the decadent shows taking place in all the fashion capitals.

I hope you enjoy my take on the best in the Industry and get a little inspired in the process.

"Horst always seems to be staring as some lost soul grappling with a new world while still being endearingly nonchalant"

Marloes Horst, subject of this editorial, is a treasure.
She has the wide eyes and swollen lips that comes straight from a scene in the seventies with added mystery and cool. I love the moody element in the work where Horst always seems to be staring as some lost soul grappling with a new world while still being endearingly nonchalant. All this basically means is that she's 'cool kid' gold, like a far less showy and over exposed Cara Delevingne, every shoot she does is considered and every character played is carefully constructed in relation to the image being shaped around her- going by this perhaps Freja Erichson would have been a better comparison than Cara but you get my drift.

During the summer I had the pleasure of styling a photo shoot for the Not Your Girlfriend club night right here in Dublin city. Sarah (O'Neill) mastermind behind NYG and Harlow&Harvey clothing -among many other things- had the idea to produce a gorgeously personal line of T-shirts to go along with the whole Audio Visual experience of the operation. Now by this time I had been working with Sarah doing visuals for the events and was kindly asked to be stylist on this project along with the lovely Aoife Dunne- obviously it was a no brainer.
When the day in question arrived, Aoife and I met up early to be good little stylists and get organised win! But in pursuit of the venue got totally lost (and had alot of laughs) and just about made it on time double lol.

The shoot itself was a blast with both myself and Aoife styling eclectic looks to complement the T-shirts and aesthetics of the brand. The models were fantastically unique- each with their own personal style and the space was a dream (I especially loved the light installation in the centre of the room). We also used a projector reflecting graphics from the club night onto the models which added a really fun and challenging element to the day.

With Photography by Dean Ryan McDaid from 9 Crow Street and behind the scenes video and stills by Samuel Foxton this is one shoot I'm dying to share with you guys.

Here I've put together a photo diary of the days events with some behind the scenes and some sneaky previews of the shoot, I hope you like them and do check out the Not Your Girlfriend Facebook page HERE for more info on the events and T-shirt range.

Also you can see me wearing my very own Tee from the range in last weeks outfit post HERE,
Hope you like it.

Pondering Miranda Kerr's flawless off-duty style led me to this gorgeous shoot by Tom Munro featured in Vogue Italia. I'm not sure, but I think I'd classify this as rocker glam- Kerr style. Its a bit cheeky but very cool too which is always a great combination in my book. Miranda always seems to have tough, fresh feel to her shoots despite the lashings of fashion directors and lavish budgets, something you have to admire!

Hope you like it x

"Think 'blurry, dead-flower prints' or 'dreamy, dark florals' putting it more romantically."

So today I thought I'd share my high street picks for autumn/winter.
These are all the pieces I'm drooling over right now but basically can't afford so I'm dreaming/ writing about them instead- a very effective technique I swear!

Hello  dear readers,
My apologies for the drought of posts recently, 2013 has certainly had its share of unexpected experiences, which has been progressive but meant that most of my hobbies were placed on hold accompanied of course by a cheesy jingle as a distraction.

I had an unexpectedly awesome day on Wednesday, it started with a call from my dear friend Leah who was minus one piece of arm candy for an exciting fashion show and kindly invited me along.
The show was Umit Kutluk's first ever solo presentation, a gorgeous AW/13 Ready to Wear and Couture extravaganza.

 Hello lovely readers,
Last night I was very excited to once again be doing live visuals for the brilliant club night 'Not Your Girlfriend', it's run by a very talented lady and good friend of mine Sarah O'Neill- who is also the master mind behind 'Harlow and Harvey' clothing!
So I had a lovely busy week last week with trips to Galway and styling a photo shoot for the awesome, new range of Not Your Girl friend T shirts (super excited about this one!). I shall share lots of behind the scenes and the final shoot at a later date- find it first at the Rough Dreams Facebook page HERE :)

Here's some more images from a post I did earlier in the week, I was thinking along the lines of seeing life through rose tinted glasses with this one because there's so many note worthy catchphrases concerning flowers ie. 'everything's rosy'-
it's probably a girl thing :)

Girl talk aside you can follow me here on lookbook for a first look at all my outfit posts and theres even a little hype button on my look below if you've already joined lookbook, I always think it's a great way to spend a rainy afternoon-

Peace out,

Good evening dear readers :)
Lots of exciting things coming to Rough Dreams in the coming months but for now here's a little photo-diary of my stay in the beautiful Porto in Portugal.

Think storms of wild flowers peppered with fresh produce, stunning views and total piece and quiet.
I stayed in a beautiful canvas tent equip with a pink Moroccan theme and even a matching mosquito net! It was such a relaxing holiday with long walks and dinner time under the stars, just what I needed..

Hoping your having an awesome summer!
Peace out,

New up on and fresh for my lovely readers-
It has been a big bunch of STUNNING weather here in dublin and I have been a total opportunist with plenty of sunbathing and outdoor eating/ events to keep me busy! I couldn't steal myself from checking out the Zara sale as it's so close to where I work and always makes me giddy -all my favorite clothes reduced to sinfully affordable prices- how could I resisted?!
I snapped up a few pieces that I was delighted with including this leather mix panel, sport-lux T, a great option when your getting bored of your run of the mill 'basic T's'. I'm also wearing a very tropical palm tree mini, another favorite from Zara and shoes and accessories are from Topshop.

These are shot in my local park by my lovely boyfriend Greg,
I hope you like them :)

A slightly comical shoot from one of my favorite photographers of the moment Greg Kadel featuring a crazy lady and an unknown furry.
Styled by Patti Wilson and shot in what seems to be a space-age underground, I can't help but love the weirdness in this one!

For more from the brilliant Greg check out his website HERE!

I have small obsession going on right now with brilliant artist Michael Ostermann. His work is like a great nightmare you dont want to forget, I love the range of subjects he uses especially his depictions of rock and roll legends and his focus on bringing an unmistakable draw to the eyes- creepy and full of character.

I hope you like them as much as I do,  for more from Mr. Ostermann check out his brilliant website HERE.

"It was absolutely freezing- my mum, acting as photographer's assistant for the day, wrapped in wooly scarfs chirped up regularly to remind us of this fact"

Here finally is one half of my little adventure on brighton beach with my brilliant Uncle and Photographer Xavier! I've worked with Xav previously on a pulls no punches studio shoot involving lots of experimental lighting and expressions and a simple concept- you can check it out HERE.

-Good evening folks-

Apologies for my absence, sometimes the monotonies of life can distract from the far more pleasurable activities I would prefer to spend my time on, but alas some things must be done.

This week im giving you a little behind the scenes insight into the photo shoot I was styling for Life magazine which comes with the Sunday Independent.

-Depicted as seen by Jowy Maasdamme-

I'm loving researching Fashion illustrators at the moment, it's amazing the talent you find hidden away in the crevices of the interweb! Someone I'm very excited about is Jowy Maasanme, her work is eerie, beautiful, dark, weird and many more art-sy, poetic adjectives.
My attention was drawn after seeing her illustrations featured on Nick Nights Show Studio as a guest contributor, depicting her take on Paris fashion week AW13. Instantly I loved her use odd proportions and corpse like beings, each with their own unique look and personality. I have collected my favorites, which I've featured in this post along with a beautiful depiction of McQueen ss13 also by Jowy.

All AW13 images from the showstudio website and the McQueen SS13 images are from Jowy Maasamme's blog

A shoot I did for Tabitha Magazine Issue 3 back in October that I thought Id share with you guys.
This was a brilliant day spent in an old abandoned building full of all the exciting cliches of a scary haunt. Things like holes in the floor, pigeons in the roof and missing windows were abundant!

All of the creepiness was set off by the elegant, creative styling from fellow bloggers Una and Louise, 2/3rds of the masterminds behind Tabitha Magazine AND Tabitha Vintage.
You can see my post on the images from the website HERE
The third member of this exciting team is Shane O'Connor, the man behind the lens and Photographer extraordinair with a great eye for a fashion image.

Below is also a 'Making of Issue Three' video which is awesome, it even shows a glimpse of my first shoot for Tabitha Vintage!

-Happy Friday all-

So last week i ventured out to Tabitha hq, home of Tabitha Vintage, Tabitha Magazine, Shane O'Connor Photography and Sketchy Inc. There was many a chat and laugh to be had but i was actually on a mission you see. The lovely Tabi girls Una and Louise request the use of my little face for the new Tabitha vintage lookbook. This was my second time featuring for T.V (ah Tabitha Vintage ya see what i did there) and each time i work with these guys i literally laugh from begining to end. Needless to see when the call came i was more than a little excited meet up again and this time in the bonafied new Tabi hq (which really is beyond trendy- yes i just said trendy).

The images have now gone live on the website, so i thought i would share them with you and theres even a little screenshot of me on the website Above :)

Lots more exciting posts coming you're way over the next few weeks so stay tuned yippee...

"Featured in issue 6 of LOVE Magazine this shoot really is from another planet."

-Happy Monday Lovelies-
For me Monday is a day of fashion research and winding down after the weekend of working.
oh and cleaning the house this is a mundane Monday activity which always manages to encroach on my grand, sartorial plans involving nothing but a mug of coffee, my mac and a pen and pad (for all my confusing inner thoughts and ideas for my blog).
However a tidy house is a tidy mind and right now mines verging on minimalist! Happy :).

I've been a busy (quiet) bee recently as I have some exiting things rustling in the pipeline involving lots of brainstorming, research and whispers.
One morsel I will share is that 'Rough Dreams Fashion Week Edit' will be coming back again this season for a grand return to haphazard glory. Lovingly compiled just for you guys- my lovely readers, so stay tuned for my take on the perfect world fashion week.

Tonight is a stunning shoot by an extremely talented bunch of fashion pros.
Photography by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott

Featured in issue 6 of LOVE Magazine this shoot really is from another planet.

Gotta love Laura

Do you guys love Love mgazine as much as I do?

"Lets face it, Valentines day has been wrung out of all the romance and important stuff and instead been bloated with thoughts of spending and extravagance."

-Greetings Rough Dreamers-
Since it's a Valentines type week I thought I'd do a Rough Dreams guide to get you through the day (for ladies AND gentlemen).
Because lets face it, Valentines day has been wrung out of all the romance and important stuff and instead been bloated with thoughts of spending and extravagance. I think we have forgotten the beauty of the day and more importantly what Valentines day is really about- Love, Lust, Lay-ins and Laughter with your chosen homo sapien.

Hello and a happy Friday to you guys,
I hope your week was nice to you and you have plans of great proportions for the weekend!

Tonight I thought I'd share a shoot from quite a while back while i was still living in Galway, being another of my collaborative works with Saibh Egan Photography and Make Up by Flora
This one was done on a whim, as myself and the two fabulous ladies wanted to experiment creatively and flex our chosen trades, I was in fact just the model-face for this one as Saibhy had the creative vision for the fun project.
