sunshine and lollipops

Whats craic-a-lackin guys

So here is the other look me and Saibh put together,
we were a bit crest fallen due to the promise of a heatwave this week (which didn't happen)
and it always seems to be over-cast and rainy when ever we decide to plan a shoot.

On the bright side -literally- this shiny yellow wall seemed to work wonders on our spirits
so here's the lookbook look along with some images we didn't use
hope you like

I'm off to Sligo now for a Giant Vintage car show- and im telling you these cars have got styyyle :)

Here is one of the very little ones, me and Saibh Egan decided to do a few looks for and came across this fantastic space which we were very grateful for- which helped create some very nice images
( i think :) )
You can see below my post for lookbook however i thought i would share a few of the 'outtakes' with you considering we got so many nice images, let me know what you think...

On a little after thought i thought i would show you these lovely images created for my blog.
The photography and editing are both by Saibh Egan- not just a retty face you know :)- and i just love them, so now you know who's responsible for well and truly sprucing up my blog.

block colour

Bonjourno peeps

so i recently did a colour blocking photo shoot collaborating with the fantastic photographer Saibh Egan and the immensely talented MA Flora Psarianos

The shoot was on the land owned by Flora and lovingly donated to be used in the shoot,
we were shooting inbetween flash showers (trusty irish weather) but the results were very exciting,so exciting were these pictures that we have had interest shown in them and so therefore i cannot disclose the the details-

Ever the woman shrouded in secrecy i may be - here is a sneak peak of a few makeup shots before the shoot that i styled and modeled for, hope you like them and watch this space...

Of late iv been giving some thought to young urban designers and there crazy creations and you cant get much crazier than these two...

First in line is Richard James now Granted he is a bespoke savile row tailor and is far from quirky by any stretch of the imagination but he must of had some nutty notions hiding away deep inside when he came up with this mini collection- an entire tailored suit all of which is Sponge Bob Square Pants theme- its certainly taking a risk for a well respected tailor, however i have the up-most respect to anybody who is willing to break the mold, even if it is just once for a mini collection!

Mr James with his prestigious British Fashion Award

And here we come to the not so mundane Carri Mundane, born Carri Mundan this girl is as nutty as squirrel poo -but oh my she has the talent to back it up. This Japanese crazy genius's London based clothing line Cassett Playa is an eclectic mix of 'Technology, Comics and Cartoon Couture' using a wiiiide variety of prints, colours and fabrics with heavy urban and retro influences. Even the website is totally creative and random-

Mundane Micky Mouse creation

Miss Mundane herself modeling her own line

Cassette Playa and Nike collaboration

at one of the fashion shows

Some of Cassette Playa's latest collection

Carri modelling her own attire

End of show with Sonic the hedgehog

Carri Mundan

Its not all fun and games however, Carri Mundane has received a number of prestigious achievements including being nominated for best mens wear designer (alongside Alexander McQueen no less) in 2007 and in 2008 rolling stone magazine named her 'best fashion designer'.
Having been a heavy weight stylist before beggining her collection Carri has an impressive array of collaborations under her belt including a number of music videos ( MIA, Dizzee Rascal and patrick wolf to name a few ) and is a contributing stylist and editor of super super magazine and I.D.
Describing her line as techno, primal, positive and tribal this girl knows her stuff and isnt afraid to shout about it.

props and vintages- oh the finery

Hello there

I recently went to visit Props and Vintage for hire in Galway
to check it out and marvel at some of the pieces.
This is a beautiful little space fit to burst with the most amazing intricate pieces from every era.
Founded and run by the hugely talented Jim Grindley and Triona Lillis this place really is a treasure chest waiting to be discovered.

Although i had a limited time space and it was kind of a matter of grabbing as many of my favorite bits as i could and taking a few snaps (no mean feat, im telling you)
I think i managed to gather a nice array (if a very small portion) of pieces.

this amazing asian style dress
has a full skirt of fringing and fringe detail on the shoulders

a beautiful raw silk piece that looks to be from the 1910's
although i cant be sure

an amazing entirely embellished 80's pieces,
this thing weighs a ton, what a show stopper!

such a beauty, an amazing flowy 70's maxi.
I LOVE the colours!

such a lovely piece
it could be worn in current times and still look perfect

another glitzy 80's number,
they really knew how to embellish

really one of my favorite pieces
the unbelievable detail will win you over every time

my absolute favorite hands down this amazing silk hand stitched piece is mind blowing
the colours patterns and outstanding detail had me jumping up and down with excitement!

although this was a short trip ill be sure to go back and document my findings more thoroughly when i have more time as theres sooo much to see including a very impressive collection of vintage luggage that would make you heart hurt...
