Preserving a Genius

So I thought I would take some time out to discus the AMAZING Savage Beauty exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum NYC , for those of you fashionistas living under a stylish rock- this is the exhibit to end all fashion exhibits showcasing the rise and rise of Lee Alexander McQueen. Including approx 100 of his most exquisit creations along with some of the most famous catwalk videos, so if you have a rainy day fund tucked away THIS will be the 'rainy day' you have been waiting for.

Now for those among us (like myself) who cant afford to nip off to Newyork i thought i would bring a little of the 'Savage Beauty' to you, here are some of my favorites.

Ostrich feather dress for the s/s '01 'VOSS' collection

The famous robotic spray art dress worn by Shalom Harlow for the 'No.13' collection

The exhibit was launched on May 4th and is there in all its finery until august 7th 2011, the exhibit is organised by the Costume institute and over seen by Curator Andrew Bolton, when speaking about the title he said ''the title “Savage Beauty” very much epitomizes the contrasting opposites in McQueen’s work.'

the 'Jellyfish' ensemble for the s/s '10 'Plato's Atlantis' collection

black feather ensemble from the 'Horn of plenty' collection a/w '09

my favorite ever collection 'Angels and Demons' which was McQueens last ever collection left to Sarah Burton to present
